Out of the blue....

Just sitting in the car waiting for kid's Karate class to be over this popped into my head.

Green Intolerance?

Wow, I was just put down for believing in green energy. Simply because, well I am not sure, but it seems to go something like this.
  • Because it is probably too late, why bother.
  • Because nobody wants to change and there would be sacrifices involved.
  • One might be classed with environmentalist that one disagrees with on other issues.
  • Surely one needn't change anything as long as one chants praises and sings plenty of hymns....being stewards of the earth can't surely mean taking care of it! Are not we more important than anything put on the earth and the very earth as well?
I don't care, if the earth was definitely going to explode tomorrow....I would water a flower today.
If next week was all she wrote, it would not mean that I should hasten it without a care. The reason is, simply put, I would rather be hugging a tree when I go, than promoting and defending the war mongering industrial complex that rules this world and is killing all the whales and the babies.
So yes! I am a believer in preservation of the planet that supports us. I will not be ashamed to be a defender of the natural world. I just can't condone spraying the wasp in the attic with gas just before one lights their candle...some do though. Go figure.
What is a belief, creed, religion? According to answers.com it is as follows:
n.
  1. A formal statement of religious belief; a confession of faith.
  2. A system of belief, principles, or opinions: laws banning discrimination on the basis of race or creed; an architectural creed that demanded simple lines.

[Middle English crede, from Old English crēda, from Latin crēdō, I believe. See credo.]

That works for me as a definition. What I am wondering is why most religions one has the opportunity to learn of all have one thing in common, and that is that believers, in said faith must convert all that they meet. This would be far easier to understand if each did not also say, "Oh I know that this might not be the only way to heaven, but I think it is the best." Well if it is understood that a certain destination might have many paths, why then must one take theirs? Are religions like multi-level marketing? Are we looking for a certain number of converts to win through?

Aw well, it would be arrogant of me to think that anyone cared, in all truth, about what I think. I realize that the reason is more to make coup. The goal is to change one, to turn one around, as it were. The need to be continuously going forth and challenging others to verbal duels in order to somehow prove the validity of ones reasons somehow detracts from, rather than enhances a belief. An opinion, once offered and declined, hardly becomes more palatable when one is walloped with it repeatedly.

So, onward, sans labels, branding, and prescribed beliefs. Awaiting is the same infinite truths and exulted light as ever. Awaiting is today, this moment, forevermore.
Praise to the light for that, and praise to the rain!

The light of truth shines on us all!

Take off the shades and see. Wow I should go into advertising! naw.....

Tired of War Mongers

Tired of war!
Tired of people telling me
That to war is patriotic
What is so unpatriotic about peace?
What is so hateful about tolerance?
Why?
Please tell me why,
We must hate so?

Why I remain a Liberal....

I remain a liberal because to do otherwise is to embrace something far more deplorable. The loss of free choice.

It is wrong and pointless to legislate morality. Victimless crimes should be left to the discretion of the doer.

The environment and changing to a life sustaining global energy system is the only issue left of importance. Everyone's petty issues like fighting over borders and religions need to be set aside. Those who can't refrain should use hand to hand weapons that are environmentally safe as in clubs, swords and catapults. Modern warfare is too polluting and should be banned. This should be put into effect immediately on behalf of ALL OF THE BABIES, whether they be human whale or aardvark.

So that's it. Should all the money currently going for drilling, research, wars, and mining for oil and gas were to suddenly be diverted to actualizing the potenial energy of the sun and the ocean I belive that we could power our instustries, or transportation and our homes.

If this stance makes me an extremist so be it. That fact remains that one person's passionate believer is another's wacko extremist. This is proven by my own feelings toward those who believe that to war is holy as long it is against certain people or countries.

Sun shining through the wheat

I love sunrises in the morning,

and dark shadows in the heat of day.

I love sunsets, in the evening.

I love the smell of new mowed hay.

I love dewdrops

and rainbows.

I love to take pause,

To remember

What is really important.

It isn't the pie, but the joy it brings.

The Gladdest Glad

Where to go from one picture to the next. That seems to be the problem. I just like to take pictures. Then I like to photoshop pictures. I have trouble rhapsodizing about the pictures or rattling off a bunch of technical jargon.

Are the pictures good? Should I continue? Is there a market for what I like to do? Or should I go and get a day job?

At least I have the glads, surely I needn't make any hard decisions until the glads are over, right?
